ShortcutsQL does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. There are no servers we control, no analytics, and no tracking.
The short version
- The app has no backend of its own. It connects directly from your device to the PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB databases you configure.
- Your saved queries and server details live only on your device.
- Database usernames and passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device — never in plain text and never sent to us.
- We use no analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party SDKs that collect data.
What information the app handles
Database connection details
When you add a database, the host, port, database name, and query text you enter are saved locally on your device. The username and password you enter are stored in the iOS Keychain and marked to remain on this device only. This information is used solely to connect to the databases you specify.
Query data
When you run a query, your SQL and credentials are sent directly from your device to your own PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB server over an encrypted SSL/TLS connection. Results are shown on your device and are not transmitted anywhere else. The app may record basic run metadata locally (such as the last run time, row count, and duration) so it can display it on the Home screen.
Data we collect
None. The developer does not receive, store, or have access to any of the data described above. Nothing you enter into the app is transmitted to the developer or to any third party other than the database servers you explicitly connect to.
Third-party services
ShortcutsQL integrates with Apple's Shortcuts app so you can run saved queries as part of your own automations. This runs entirely on your device under your control. The app does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services.
Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you are in full control of it. Deleting a saved query or server removes its stored details, including its Keychain credentials. Deleting the app removes all of its locally stored data from your device.
Children's privacy
ShortcutsQL is a developer tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Since the app collects no data, any changes are expected to be minor clarifications.
